100 degrees in the shade

|

Remind me why I was excited about being assigned to this planet. Right now I'm hoping for a transfer to one of the ice moons of plotznick, sooner rather than later.

I'm at home because there's a plumber in my kitchen, installing a new sink and faucet. This is very exciting. This kind of thing may not constitute "excitement" in your life, but in my life oh yes, this is good times. I've wanted to get the whole kitchen remodeled for more years than I can remember, but not having the resources, I replace things as needed. Not the best approach, I know. More expensive in the long run, yes. The sink that's being installed now will be replaced if I ever get the new countertop I'd like. Nevertheless, having hated my small, shallow sink and low faucet for all the years I've lived here, I'm thrilled to be replacing the split sink with a single, deep bowl, the low faucet with a high arching one. This means I can use my tall steamer again, and wash it without cursing and flooding the countertop and floor. I can steam crab, hooray. It doesn't get any better than this around here when it's 100 degrees in the shade.
